Rhys raises funds with next top model

Celtic Manor Resort and Cwmbran Hairdresser Rhys Giles recently held for the second time South Wales Next Top Model at the exclusive Caernarfon Ballroom at the Celtic Manor Resort.

South wales next top model is held in conjunction with Voice Magazine it is an annual event where “we are looking for aspiring modelling talent” says Rhys, “We give amateur or semi-professional models the opportunity to walk a full length catwalk in front of a large audience”. Nearly 300 people attended the event, which is an evening of music hairdressing and fashion aimed at providing valuable funds for St Anne’s hospice that provide respite care for the local South Wales community.

After an amazing Show, our 10 finalists were whittled down to 4 where the public are encouraged to vote for their winner. Rhys Explains “All our judges had such a tough job as the standard was so high, I can see some of these guys carving out a career for themselves”, with Bristol based Alpha agency who helped support and sponsor the event offering a potential contract to the winner.

On the evening the team raised an impressive £1775.00 for the Hospice plus gift aid pushing the total to £1974.00 and Chief executive Emma Saysell explained the hospice has costs of over 1million pounds every year and was delighted with all the efforts that Rhys and the team have made to pull off such a fantastic event.

Rhys explains “We are truly committed to this event” now in its second year, “we will begin to see how we can further improve and feature even more local talent next year”.
